Families Need Fathers Both Parents Matter Cymru Charity

Welcome Croeso.
Good news. The Queen's Speech says there will be more help for fathers. It is worth campaigning!

We are sorry that you need to come onto our site because we know the pain parents and grandparents go through when they are prevented from seeing children they love and the children hate it too. They love both their parents.

Below you'll find details of branch meetings and each branch has contact phone numbers. You are very welcome to come along to a branch meeting and/or to phone for help.

Parents living on the English border may find it easier to get to meetings in England. Just remember that some things are different in Wales, we have Cafass Cymru for example, England has Cafcass.
There is a helpline for those who would find Hereford easier to reach than Aberystwyth, Cardiff or Wrexham and that is 01543 411155

Most of the parents who come to us do gradually gain more contact with their children. We believe that unless a parent is a danger to their child, shared parenting is the way forward. We help grandparents too

Most of our branches ask for a donation towards covering the cost of hiring the venue. We really appreciate it when people do contribute but no one is ever made to feel awkward if they are unable to afford a donation.

The important thing is that parents get the support and the help they need to enable them to play a meaningful role in their child/ren's growing up. Both parents matter to a child.

You will be welcome in all our meetings. Usually following a welcome we do a triage, which means we work out if anybody needs help for the next day, the next week and make sure those cases are listened to first. Some branches have professional pro-bono solicitors, others McKenzie friends, others experienced volunteers. Some have all three. Everybody is given a chance to have help and advice. Often branches invite guests. Wrexham has hosted Mark Isherwood AM recently. Cardiff has hosted Diane Watkins a Family Law Mediator. Swansea has hosted Bethan Jenkins AM Some branches drift to local pubs at the end of the meeting for a relaxing and uncomplicated chat and/or pint. Others don't. The welcome is always warm whichever branch you attend.
